March 3, 2011 3-D Form Felting Workshop (Intermediate)
I am offering a two-day intensive on felting wool in-the-round at Oxygen Art Centre on Sat/Sun, March 26/27 from 10am-4pm.
This workshop introduces methods for creating simple 3-D forms directly from wool batting, without the need for additional processes. The workshop will focus on basic techniques for felting three-dimensional forms by hand, and the making and use of specialized and improvised tools. Using the 3-D felting techniques, participants will be able to felt simple forms that can be applied in the making of hats, handbags, basket-like containers, toys, and other items.
A slide show, samples of suitable objects and felted pieces will be shown in the first session. This workshop is an intermediate-level course. Prior felting experience is recommended.
Instructor: Deborah Loxam-Kohl
Cost: $120 + HST; $20 materials fee paid to instructor
Location: Oxygen Art Centre at #3, 320 Vernon St (alley entrance)
